07.  LITTLE TIBET TO THE VALLEY OF LONGEVITY (14 DAYS)

This exciting tour will take you through some of the most picturesque and culturally rich parts of Pakistan’s Northern Areas enabling you to explore a large portion of the Karakoram Mountains and valleys as well as parts of the beautiful Himalayan range. 

We begin at Islamabad, the Capital of Pakistan and one of the most beautiful and modern cities of this country. Visit the impressive Faisal Mosque with its unique architecture, explore the colorful Bazaars of Rawalpindi, and get a birds eye view of the impressive Capital from the Margalla Hills view point. 

Wander through the ruins of the excavated city of Taxila, one of the most important Buddhist sites in the Indo- Pak subcontinent dating back from 6th century B.C to 6th century AD and visit its impressive Museum. 

Traveling through a beautiful landscape, drive to Besham and Chilas retracing the steps of the of the ancient travelers across the Himalayas and Karakoram mountains to follow the ancient Silk Route, now known as the Karakoram Highway. It is a unique roadway that provides one of the most adventurous and scenic journeys through Pakistan’s northern areas. Snaking through three of the world’s greatest mountain ranges under the shadows of Nanga Parbat 8125 meters, Rakaposhi 7788 meters and many many more over 7000 meter peaks, it joins Pakistan with China at Khunjerab Pass 4733 meters high.

Marvel at the diversity of the impressive mountain landscape and visit the ancient "Buddhist Rock Engravings" of 2nd century AD at Shatial and Chilas. 

Drive up the Indus Gorge along the thundering river Indus to reach Skardu, the capital of Baltistan, explore the beautiful valleys of Khaplu and Hushe which offer magnificent vistas of mountain scenery quite similar to Tibetan landscape and was known as ‘Little Tibet’ in olden times. Meet the local Balti people who have typical Tibetan features and their language ‘Balti’ is similar to Archaic Tibetan. Most of this region is a high altitude desert rising from 2286 meters at Skardu to 8611 meters at the summit of K2, the highest mountain in the Karakoram Range and the 2nd highest in the world. Marvel at the impressive views of the Masherbrum Peak (7821 Mt) and enjoy the beauty of Shigar Valley that leads to the base camp of K2. 

Drive past the serene Satpara Lake and visit the ancient Buddhist rock engravings near it before ascending the winding jeep trail to Deosai Plateau 4000 meters high. During August this area of lush green undulating hills is matted with wild flowers and offers panoramic views of Himalayan peaks as well as those of the Karakoram mountains. 

Drive to Gilgit, the ancient town of the Silk route and explore its bazaars, savour the magical beauty of Hunza, the valley of longevity and explore its ancient forts at Altit and Baltit. Enjoy the panoramic views of Hunza and Nagar valleys from Doiker view point and marvel at the density of snow covered peaks most of which are over 7000 meters high. Explore Nagar valley for impressive views of the Hoper and Barpu glaciers before returning to Islamabad at the end of this memorable trip.

08.  SWAT - HUNZA PANORAMA (14 DAYS)

This most rewarding tour will enable you to visit and explore some of the most beautiful mountain valleys of Pakistan and introduce you to the diversity of cultures and landscapes of two of the worlds greatest mountain ranges, the Himalayas and Karakoram. 

We begin at Islamabad, the Capital of Pakistan and one of the most beautiful and modern cities of this country. Visit the impressive Faisal Mosque with its unique architecture, explore the colorful Bazaars of Rawalpindi and get a birds eye view of the impressive Capital from the Margalla Hills view point. 

Drive through interesting villages of the Potohar plateau crossing the mighty river Indus at Attock, a point very near to the place where Alexander the great also crossed way back in 327 BC. 

Travel through frontier villages of the Himalayan foothills and visit the excavated site of an ancient Buddhist Monastery at Takht-Bahi before crossing the Malakand Pass into the lush green Swat valley. It once used to be one of the most important seats of Buddhism during the 1st and 2nd century AD, having more than 1400 monasteries. Explore its ancient excavated sites, visit the impressive Museum in Saidu Sharif and travel through lovely mountain villages to explore the upper reaches of this lush Himalayan valley before ascending the beautiful Shangla Pass (2120 MT) to join the famous Karakoram Highway at Besham.

Explore Nagar valley for impressive views of the Hoper and Barpu glaciers before proceeding to Gulmit which is the most picturesque part of the Hunza valley offering lovely day treks to the several glaciers in its vacinity. 

Take a day trek to explore Ghulkin glacier or take a rest at the serene Borit Lake before driving through exciting landscape of glaciers and towering snow covered peaks all the way to the Chinese border at Khunjerab Pass. Drive back to Gilgit and Four Wheel for a day trip to the lovely alpine village of Naltar 3049 meters high to enjoy the excellent views of pine covered mountainsides and enchanting lakes. 

Travel down the Karakoram highway to Islamabad visiting en-route, the ruins of the excavated city of Taxila, one of the most important Buddhist sites in the Indo- Pak subcontinent dating back from 6th century B.C to 6th century AD and visit its impressive Museum. This exciting trip ends at Islamabad from where you fly back.
